Global Anderson can’t seem to make up his mind. First he wanted to shut down the boarding house, then the whole school. After that, undecidedly confused as he normally is, he said to himself “OK, how about going half way?” So, he embarked on a desperate search for a suitable partner to run the school or take over the premises.

 The board of the Narek Elementary turned him down, so he started knocking on other doors. Private high schools were asked to invest in cash or in kind (depending who he was talking to). His best deal came from the American Academy. That seemed to serve everybody else, apart from the students. But then again, who cares about the students.

 Now, word has it that Flash Gordon has been flirting some Russkies who want to launder their hard earned dollars through the Melkonian. What next, a Financial Academy for Milosevic supporters, or a Human Rights Institute for Saddam?

 Whatever the case, Gordie and his mandarins continue to roam around, cashing in their over-rated salaries, paid by the money Garabed Melkonian foolishly left in the hands of the American General Benevolent Union (subsequently squandered by generations at the helm).

 These people do not respect the founders of the school, and despite being told off by the founders’ grand nephew, the flower pots on the Melkonian monument are still full of cigarette butts. Even the visitors driving in and out for their external exams held at the school’s upper floors, seem to favour parking their cars right in front of the memorial, almost on top of Krikor and Garabed’s graves.

 Don’t Gordon and his puppies have any sense of decency in them? (Was this a rhetorical or trick question, who knows…)

 May those who dishonour the memories of the founders and seek fortunes in the closure of the school, be cursed for life!
